Thursday, February 24, 2011
10:30am-12:30pm & 6pm-8pm

Saturday, February 26, 2011
10:30am-12:30pm

Before you shake your head and not read any further - we invite you to explore the following paragraphs and learn about the possibilities and mysteries of Art Journaling.

Just exactly what is Art Journaling you ask?  Art journaling is about the creative process of pulling together color, words and images, as YOU wish, on a page. Unlike many other forms of art, it is not about the outcome.  It is about YOUR personal experience or story!  This can explore your day-to-day life, personal growth issues, life changing events or even simply just an exploration of working with new artistic mediums.  Whatever you want to record is what your Art Journaling will be about!

This is a basic technique class.  The content of the class will be up to you although Nonnie will provide information, prompts, samples and tips/tricks on how to get started, etc.

Art Journaling 101 will cover:
~Common book structure
~Types of Content
~Surface prep
~Beginning a small journal

In this first class you will work with gel medium, acrylic paints and Gesso.

This will be the first of 3 technique classes!  It is highly recommended that you take all 3 of the classes, in order, to achieve your desired journaling results.

Art Journaling 202 will cover:
~Collage
~Stamping
~Doodling

Art Journaling 303 will cover:
~Using melted wax in your work
~Embellishments

Remember this is all about you - your style, your technique, your life!  Come find your niche with Nonnie!

Stamping 101 with Nonnie ($20)

Saturday, February 19, 2011
10:30am-12:30pm

RUBBER STAMPING - NOT JUST FOR CARDMAKERS ANYMORE!

Rubberstamping has grown in popularity among crafters, just as scrapbooking has. Many rubber stamps can be used on a scrapbook page just because of their versatility, ease of use and repeatability (I love this word!!).  Rubber stamped images can be simple or elaborate, sophisticated or fun.  Used once on a page or repeatedly, a rubber stamp makes a great, inexpensive page decoration.

Come learn, create and play with Nonnie as she shows you how to "step up" your crafting and take it to the next level!  You will start out by learning about the different inks and 3 kinds of stamps!  You will do some basic stamping and learn how to heat emboss with that little thing that LOOKS like a hair dryer - but isn't!!

You will be doing cards, not scrapbook pages - because we all know just how different our style of crafting can be but the techniques you learn can be applied to pages, mini books, tags and much, much more!

Already know how to stamp and heat emboss?  Just come make the cards cuz they are cute!!!!

(please bring your basic tool kit and craft mat (if you have one) to this class)

2011 Memorabilia Class with Nonnie! ($40)

Thursday, February 17, 2011
10:30am-2:30pm

Sunday, February 20, 2011
12:00pm-4:00pm

You will make this fantastic book totally FROM SCRATCH - yep, start to finish!!  You'll start with the basic chipboard and add those envelopes and TA DA you have a book that can be used for so many things PLUS astound and amaze your friends and family!

This sample book features Tim Holtz stamps and the Conservatory line from 7 Gypsies but....YOU CAN PERSONALIZE IT WITH YOUR VERY OWN STYLE!!!

There will be rubber stamping, there will be distressing, there will be inking AND you will work with some gorgeous gold foil!  And knowing Nonnie there will be much, much more!!!

When I first saw this creation, I thought "what a neat way to hold all my pre-made birthday cards".  There are 12 separate envelopes (each one prettier than the next) - just waiting to be filled with cards, bills, pictures, travel memorabilia and more!  In taking yet another look at it....I also thought what a cute idea for a pet "album"!!

Once you learn this technique...let your creativity go wild and use other styles of envelopes - what a great way to use up those "junk mail" envelopes you get from the postal service!

(If possible, please bring the following to this class:  Basic tool kit, a scoring system, Beacon's, Tea Dye Distress Ink (or your favorite), Jet Black Archival Ink and a Ranger blending tool.)
